Director of Engineering 2024

WorkDove, Inc., seeks Director of Engineering (Durham, NC) Duties: Conceive and implement vision for company’s SaaS platform by contributing and taking overall direction of architecture and use of various technical tools to build, mature, and enhance platform. Establish software development goals. Manage, mentor and coach engineers with best software development practices. Manage engineering budget and distribution of resources. Work with customers and other stakeholders to prioritize engineering and product roadmap. Spearhead platform system upgrades to increase speed and efficiency. Introduce agile methodologies and increase productivity and throughput of engineering team. Architect and develop CI/CD pipeline for deploying platform in AWS.

Required: Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or related software development position. 

• Must have 2 years of experience leading a software engineering team.
• Must have experience with:
  • AWS technologies (EC2, S3, CloudFormation, Lambdas, ECS and Step Functions).
  • Database MySQL.
  • Design and development of REST APIs.
  • Database administration including design of database models, development and maintenance of triggers and stored procedures.
  • Using agile methodology and following software development practices.
  • One or more of the following programming languages: Java, C#, python or similar.
  • Source code management tools Git, VCS or similar.
  •  

Hybrid work model position with 3 days in office and 2 days remote from within normal commuting distance of the office location.
